In this set, I used negative space as well as shadows to create photos that dramatically contrasted both light and dark colors. I experimented with nature, people, objects and natural lighting. I particularly liked shooting the tall, peculiar looking trees that reside around the neighborhood. Especially with the bright lighting, the silhouettes of the trees created a dark shadowy look. I also really liked shooting the reflections of objects and people on their own because I thought it created a wispy and somewhat ghosty feel to my photos.

  

In my second experimental set, my goal was to go out and find close up shots of various street objects and nature. I envisioned my set to have a rustic beauty to it, so I looked for older, rustic looking architecture and detailed and colorful pieces of nature that caught my eye. I was really satisfied with what I was able to find, and experimented with effects and editing to contort my photographs. I wanted to create a vintage feel to my photographs, so I used various filters to create that effect to my photos.

For this set, I mostly just tried to experiment with my hand at editing, finding out what it is I like and don't like. I experimented with both effects as well as text. I found that I really admired both and that both styles of editing brought a different type of depth and beauty to my photos. I tried to keep my texts short and simple because, I didn't want to focus away from the photograph. For my editing, I chose to keep the effects of my photos light and simple as well because I still wanted to be able to depict what the photo was. I really liked the effect on photoshop, mosaic tile because I thought it gave my photos more texture and more of an artistic feel. I think for my second set, I will focus more on mosaic tile as well as experimenting with new effects.

For my final set I wanted to incorporate what I believed to be my most successful pictures that depicted Meyerowtiz work. I wanted to focus both on his landscapes and seascapes from his Cape Cod set, as well as his street photography. My first five pictures are ment to depict his Cape Cod style photos. In his set, he shoots a lot of beautiful land and seascapes as well as rustic and simplistic architecture. His Cape Cod photographs are very nonchalant and vintage feeling and that is what I wanted to portray in my set. His street photography is quite the opposite and is much more chaotic and busy. I chose these two photographs as my street photos because I think they represented the mayhem of city life, and each, depicted a story.

In my third set I tried to incorporate Meyerowitz street photography as well as his Cape Cod style photos. Meyerowitz shot most of his street photography on the streets of New York city and used bright vibrant colors, and unusual scenes to depict his stories. I tried to mimic this style, but found it difficult to  shoot people, which held me back a lot in my street photography. Because of my struggle with street photography I focused more on depicting his Cape Cod set. Once again, I tried to capture rustic, pastel colored, and airy feeling subjects, primarily homes. My favorite shot that I got was the black door against the blue house which had a "beware of dog" sign on it. I think it mimicked Meyerowitz Cape Cod shots very well and I liked the rustic feel of the door.

In my second set of my Joel Meyerowtiz series I continued to replicate his Cape Cod style photos but also expanded on his street photography as well. Continuing one with his Cape Cod photos, my goal was to find simplistic and rustic places to shoot in. I particularly liked the pastel colors of the houses that I shot and I thought it replicated many of the buildings that Meyerowitz uses in his Cape Cod photos. For my street photography, I tried to capture the chaos and humor of city life. I found that with my street photography I had to simply wait for a moment to occur that I could capture, which was a much more difficult and lengthy process. In my third series I hope to focus more on my street photography.
