In this set, I used negative space as well as shadows to create photos that dramatically contrasted both light and dark colors. I experimented with nature, people, objects and natural lighting. I particularly liked shooting the tall, peculiar looking trees that reside around the neighborhood. Especially with the bright lighting, the silhouettes of the trees created a dark shadowy look. I also really liked shooting the reflections of objects and people on their own because I thought it created a wispy and somewhat ghosty feel to my photos.

  3. I especially enjoyed the last photo because you just used shadows and negative space to follow the mood you established for this series. Great work!

  4. I really like your photos! My favorites are you first and second ones. I like how in your first one you layered two pictures on top of each other. I also like how you chose to keep it in color.

  6. i really like your first and last pictures. the overlapping from the double exposure was done perfectly for the first and i like the editing you did after. the last one is simplistic but the compostion follows rule of thirds and because it the image is very strong, especially in black and white. good job lian!

  7. I created a similar set for my series, but I like how you incorporate various other techniques regarding shadows and lighting. I also like how you were able to combine different subjects with architecture and a city life. The first picture in this series is my favorite as it overlaps images that portray negative space.
